IEEE's Student Boot Camps and IEEE's Engineering the Future Day, IIT Kharagpur on September 06, 2009
The main aim of these camps was to make students aware about the benefits of IEEE membership and encourage students from various disciplines to become members of this elite group. An overview of what IEEE is all about was presented with details about its benefits to ones academic as well as professional life was emphasized. Various activities of the IEEE EMBS were also explained by the respective Student Activities Committee members. Special importance was also given to Women in Engineering affinity group, encouraging more and more girls to become a part of this elite group.

It is by far the largest international society for Biomedical Engineers. These two scientific variants, coupled together with the cognizance of basic social and ethical needs manifests itself to serve the humanity for a greater cause. Such a productive effort requires effective collaborations between various disciplines ranging from Biomedical instrumentation to image processing and from biomaterial/tissue engineering to medical micro/nano technologies. Such an effective heterogeneity of various multidisciplinary subjects is very much essential to nurture the budding blossoms of tomorrow with the appropriate technological fusion. About IEEE Kharagpur Section The IEEE Kharagpur Section is a section in India Council under Region 10 of the IEEE organization. It is a unique section in the whole IEEE as the section is rooted at the Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur unlike other sections where activities usually spread over a number of associations. The section office is located in the campus of Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur. For the past 25 years, the IEEE Kharagpur Section has helped its members advances their careers and the field of computing and the development of mankind. The IEEE Kharagpur Section organizes workshops, conferences, symposium, colloquium and lectures by renowned personalities frequently.
